Daytime BJJ & Grappling in Eastbourne
If evenings don't work for you, four sessions a week at Rebel Combat Sports start before 5pm: gi BJJ on Tuesday at 9:00, an open mat on Wednesday at 12:00, no-gi on Saturday at 13:00 and a free open mat on Sunday at 9:00. Beginners are welcome; the first two weeks are free.
Training that doesn't need a free evening
Most grappling timetables run from six in the evening. That rules out anyone who works shifts, works evenings, or has the evenings taken up at home. These four sessions are for you.
Tuesday 9:00–10:30, gi BJJ
The coached weekday morning class, run by Adrian Bradbury. It is a full 90-minute gi BJJ session, the same class as Friday evening's. You'll need a gi, and we'll tell you exactly what to get before your first one.
Wednesday 12:00–13:00, open mat
An hour of open rounds over lunch. It is in the membership, or a £15 drop-in.
Saturday 13:00–14:30, no-gi
A full coached no-gi submission grappling class with Ben Zarif, the same session that runs on Monday and Thursday evenings.
Sunday 9:00–11:00, free open mat
Free to anyone. Experienced grapplers are welcome from any club, and you roll at your own pace.

One membership covers day and evening
You don't pick a daytime plan or an evening plan. One membership covers every session, so you can train mornings one week and evenings the next if your rota changes. Belts work the same way: one rank across gi and no-gi.
The coaching is the same at 9:00 as at 19:30. Every class is beginner-friendly because the coaching scales to whoever is on the mat. The first two weeks are free. See the full schedule and pricing.
Modern, science-based coaching. No bowing, no mysticism, no cult of personality — just what works. And every class is beginner-friendly because the coaching scales to you.

Before you come

I've never trained before — is that OK?
Yes — most people who walk in have never grappled. Every class is beginner-friendly because the coaching scales to your level. You'll be paired with someone who looks after you.

Do I need a gi?
Not for our no-gi classes — they're shorts and a rashguard. For gi BJJ sessions you'll need a gi, and we'll tell you exactly what to get before your first session.

What's the open mat?
Free, every Sunday morning, 9:00–11:00 — open rounds, experienced grapplers welcome. Roll at your own pace, no coaching agenda, no pressure. It's the relaxed way to feel the room out. There's also a lunchtime open mat on Wednesday, 12:00–13:00, which is in the membership or a £15 drop-in.

How often should I train?
Once a week builds something; two or three times moves you faster. Start with what fits your life — consistency beats intensity.
